Unofficial Event Update: Birdwatching at Okeefenokee Swamp

HFC David and I did a detour on the way to Georgia to do some birding on the edge of the swamp. Here's what we saw:

 A hawk
A timber rattlesnake, which was a life critter for both David and I.
Two red bellied woodpeckers doing the nasty, right out in the open!
 A really really cute snake.
This is the snake beside David's foot for size comparison.

This was a last minute unannounced trip, but lots of fun. Sorry you missed it!

Event Update: SOS Walk

Today we did another Six on Sunday (SOS) walk. Everything was in bloom today, it was quite beautiful. If you didn't choose to GOYB today, here's what you missed:

What appears to be a robin's egg, being eaten by ants.
Awwww a widdle bitty bunny!
Me, on the beach at our turn around point.
The Railroad Vine was particularly pretty today.
This guy was a total poser. Heather said he was "working it" for the photographer.
A bee on a flower.
Nature walks can be very dangerous. Here is Heather being brutally attacked by a brass alligator.
A brown pelican giving a plastic owl what for.
I wish I could dance like these flowers.
 A particularly photogenic tricolor heron.
Poofy things on a plant... I hope no one from native plant society reads this. In my defense, it's late and I'm tired.

Hope you can join our next outing. Remember, you can only see people pretending to have lives on TV, you can only have a life of your own if you GOYB!
